Cycling in the historic Dordogne

If you are interested in cycling in the Dordogne in the region near the small medieval village of Cadouin, this beautiful country inn is one of the best hotels in the Dordogne Perigord Noir area.   Salvetat is owned by Steve and Anne Jordan and guests benefit from their personal touch.

Steve is the consummate host and his staff demonstrate the same attention to service. You will find Anne in the kitchen working her culinary magic alongside their French chef. The Inn also has a fine selection of wines. You may want to try the local rosée Julien de Savignac, a Bergerac wine.

There are several choices of accommodation. We chose the garden room with access to a small patio and the garden beyond. It was comfortable and clean with a spacious bathroom. We were able to lock our bikes away out of the elements.

Our week’s stay was punctuated by rainy days and it was lovely to arrive in the dining-room to a fire burning in the hearth. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, the dinners were worthy of the best restaurants and the breakfast was plentiful.

Do not hesitate to opt for the full board, you will not be disappointed. This small country inn deserves the accolades that it has received on Trip Advisor.
